IT Asset Management & Inventory

Know what you own, where it is, who uses it, whether it is licensed and when it needs replacing, all in one living register.

Overview

What this service covers

You cannot secure, support or budget for what you cannot see. Most organisations discover gaps only during an incident, an audit or a licence true-up: an unknown server, an expired warranty, a laptop that never came back from a leaver.

We discover your devices, tag them, record the details that matter, track licences and warranties, and set up a simple process that keeps the register current. The result is yours, in an open format or a tool you control.

What's included

  • Network and endpoint discovery: PCs, servers, switches, APs, firewalls, printers, cameras, NVRs
  • Physical audit and asset tagging with QR or barcode labels
  • Asset register: make, model, serial, purchase date, vendor, warranty end, user, location, status
  • Software and licence register with renewal dates and usage versus entitlement
  • Warranty, AMC and subscription expiry calendar
  • Joiner / mover / leaver process: issue, transfer and recover devices and access
  • Lifecycle and refresh planning with indicative budgets
  • Tool set-up: spreadsheet, open-source or commercial asset tools, with import and reporting
  • Secure data wiping and responsible disposal guidance for retired equipment
  • Quarterly reconciliation and reporting

Exact scope, product models, licensing, timelines and warranty are confirmed during requirement assessment. Third-party subscriptions and spare parts are quoted separately where applicable.

FAQs

Questions about IT Asset Management & Inventory

What should an IT asset register contain?

Asset tag, type, make and model, serial number, purchase date and vendor, warranty end, assigned user, location, operating system or firmware, IP or MAC where relevant, status and notes. Never store passwords or licence keys in the register itself.

Is a spreadsheet enough?

For small environments, yes, if someone owns it. Beyond about 50–100 devices or several sites, a tool with discovery and alerts saves time. We help you choose; see the free asset register on our Tools page.

How do you handle old equipment?

We help you plan data sanitisation and disposal through authorised e-waste channels, in line with India's E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. Please confirm your own obligations.
